Voting Guidelines
The documents of the AASHTO/NSBA Steel Bridge Collaboration are based on the combined, cooperative efforts of industry, academia, state DOT, and FHWA steel bridge professionals. The intent is that these documents carry the recommendation of the Collaboration. Therefore, it is important that all Collaboration participants vote each document.
If more than one individual from an organization is associated with the Collaboration, it is acceptable for each individual to cast a ballot. For example, several DOT's have more than one participant in the Collaboration; in such cases, each participant may cast a ballot. The same goes for fabricators who have more than one Collaboration participant, etc.
Votes should be cast on technical merit. Editorial comments are also welcome and encouraged, but these should not be the basis for the vote.
If you choose to cast a negative ballot, please include a reason with your ballot. Negative votes must have an explanation in order to be valid.
